About Us

The GHVF (Golden Horseshoe Venture Forum) is a volunteer-run, non-profit organization aimed at fostering the growth and success of entrepreneurial ventures by creating an environment for them to network with the financial, professional and technical communities.

Over the past 8 years, we have become a "come to" source for strategic relationships among Golden Horseshoe businesses. In that time, we have endeavoured to ’connect ideas and money’ by profiling innovative local companies and outstanding keynote speakers.

The GHVF was started in 2000 and to date has featured 24 keynote speakers and presented 45 new start up companies to approximately 2200 members of the business community.

Some of the noted local keynote speakers to date include Douglas Barber, Teresa Cascioli, Mark Chamberlain, Terry Cooke, Jim Estil and Bob Young.

The GHVF governance model is made up of an advisory board when current membership includes: John Davidson, Halton, Len Lucier, Deloitte, Paul Nystrom, TD Small Business Banking, and Moe Hanley, Hewick Research Inc.,, and a volunteer executive.

GHVF Executive:
President: Laurence Hewick
Vice-President: Sean Licata
Treasurer: Oscar Cheng

The GHVF meets on a bi-monthly basis at the Burlington Golf & Country Club (www.burlingtongolfclub.com).
