Garth Jestley, Deputy Chairman of Middlefield Capital Corporation

Garth Jestley is Deputy Chairman of Middlefield Capital Corporation. Formed in 1979, Middlefield creates and manages specialized investment products for individual and institutional investors. It has assets under management of approximately $3 billion.

Garth has over 40 years experience in the financial services sector including senior roles in investment management, venture capital, corporate banking, international project financing, private debt placements and investment banking. Prior to joining Middlefield in 1985, he served as Vice President, Project Financing at Bank of Montreal and Vice President of Citibank of New York. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and earned an MBA at Richard Ivey School of Business (University of Western Ontario).

The GHVF is pleased to have Jeff Jenner, President and CEO of Sprott Power, as the guest speaker.  Jeff will speak to us about “Understanding the significant myths about renewable energy in Canada”.  Jeff’s talk will help to frame the renewable energy situation in Canada today and enlighten us as to why renewable energy is big business and good business both locally and globally.

Sprott Power Corp. (“SPC”) is a Canadian company dedicated and committed to the development, owning and operating of renewable energy projects. Jeff founded Renewable Energy Developers Inc. and was also the co-founder, Chief Financial Officer and General Partner of Ventus, a successful wind energy development company. In 1994, Mr. Jenner co-founded Mitchell Jenner and Associates Inc., a business valuations firm. Prior to founding the business valuations firm, Mr. Jenner was a principal with Ernst & Young LLP in their London, Ontario office where he provided accounting, audit and financial services to a variety of corporations.

Mr. Jenner is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Business Valuator. He earned a Bachelor of Mathematics Honours degree from the University of Waterloo in 1984
